Escape

An audiovisual exhibition created in the underground spaces of the Dům U Zlatého prstenu (House at the Golden Ring) as part of the Erasmus+ project and the Mosty mezi námi (Bridges Between Us) exhibition series. Through documentary materials, videos, interviews and spatial installations it conveys the experience of people forced to leave their homes during the refugee crisis.

The content of the exhibition drew on the personal experiences of students from Gymnázium Na Vítězné pláni, who visited a refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos and documented the lives of its inhabitants and the workings of humanitarian aid.

The installation guides visitors through a series of underground rooms in which documentary recordings, photographs, animations and personal testimonies of people working directly in refugee camps intertwine. The emphasis was on creating a focused space for engaging with the subject — without flashy stylisation or oversimplified interpretations.
